What is Cellulite?

Cellulite affects up to 80% of all adult women and some men. Characterized by a dimpled ‘ orange peel’ appearance, cellulite appears most commonly in the thigh and buttocks area. Whilst it does not represent a health threat, cellulite can be aesthetically unappealing and a cause of concern. Despite its prevalence and repeated attempts to find an effective treatment, no solution has been truly effective, until now. Cellulite is fat which is damaged due to poor circulation and drainage. In particular, female connective tissue is inflexible, so as fat cells increase in size, they bulge upwards to the surface of the skin. Factors such as hormonal changes, diet and lifestyle can be the cause of cellulite although it is not related to being overweight as it can affect average and underweight people also.

How does iLipo Ultra work?

Ilipo Ultra is the latest technology in cellulite treatment and combines three mechanisms to improve cellulite. It applies red laser light to cause temporary permeability of the fat cells to allow fluid to pass out of the cell walls. Then Infra Red laser is used to heat the fatty tissue beneath the skin to reduce the viscocity of the lipids to help release fluid from the cells. This can also stimulate production of new collagen thereby improving the structure and appearance of the skin. iLipo Ultra simultaneously applies vacuum massage to the area to improve circulation and assist in drainage of the relased fatty fluid.

Treatment – what to expect

During treatment your therapist will apply the iLipo Ultra handpiece to your skin. The red laser and infra Red laser will be activated. The vacuum massage is applied and the skin is lifted enabling deep penetration of the laer light, stimulation of the lymphatic system and mobilisation and breakdown of fatty tissue. The sensation is that of a vigourous massage. After ten minutes of laser vacuum massage the ilipo laser pads are applied to the skin for 10 minutes on each side. This is followed by a further 10 minutes of laser vacumm massage treatment to accelerate removal of released fat and further enhance lymphatic drainage. A course of 8 treatments is recommended ideally two per week. Following treatment you can resume all routine activities immediately. You may notice a slight temporary redness which will disappear in less than 24 hours. ILipo Ultra is non invasive and proven to be safe, effective and long lasting. Maintenance treatments may extend and improve results thereafter.
